I need help determining where I might go for some much needed sunshine, where the pools are open for use, and possibly on a beach. I live in NY (on Long Island) and would be interested in any destination within the U.S. that might fit the above criteria. I am burned out and would like to travel in February. Help.
Go to West Palm Beach Florida. It is beautiful, the motels are 25 dollars a night. They're nice and on top of that it's sunny all the time and there is a nice beach and water parks there.

Decorating the Elephant
Suggestions on how to decorate a 9 foot long wall so there is not too much or too little as you look at it.
Use a collection of pictures that relate somewhat to each other..all sizes..or same with mirrors. I have a friend with such a wall and she framed pieces of colored paper and arranged them, all with black frames. It sounds awful, but no, it’s spectacular. When a wall is a white elephant, then you actually want to draw attention to it by making it a focal point. Either a large piece of furniture or something stimulating to the mind to look at. Color is good but not enough alone, you must balance that wall with furniture, art, something. Just experiment. Good luck!

This girl I'm seeing is very shy and tense, how can I make her relax?
If you just met this girl, then she's probably only shy because she doesn't know you very well. With her friends, she is probably not as shy. You can hang out with her AND her friends to see if she relaxes, or talk to her friends to see what they think. Either that, or be very sweet to her, and don't rush things... That's really all the advice I can think of right now...

When you adopt a pet, you have to sign something saying you won't bring it back, right?
purple sparklies answered:
At my animal shelter, I had to sign something saying that I wouldn't return the animal, and that I wouldn't give the animal away to other people. I also had to sign something saying that I would welcome visits from people at the animal shelter to see how the pet adapted. They have never shown up, but they take your commitment very seriously!

Who You Are
Hi, I want to impress a guy. What should I do?
Just be yourself; if he doesn't like you for who you are, then he's not worth it! After all, you wouldn't want to date someone who didn't like you as yourself, because then you wouldn't be able to have a happy relationship with him!

Same Old, Same Old
How do I make my life unpredictable? I mean, the same old thing happens everyday and I'm sick of it! Please help.
Join a club or take a lesson in music, dance. Try to broaden your sense of creativity, then you can have something new to look forward to every other day and you can take the skills you learn with you through life, and maybe even start something more challenging!

What is the most frequently broken bone in the human body?
Believe it or not its your clavicle ( or your as known collar bone). Why is this bone broken more often than any other? There is a pretty interesting answer. When people fall, they instinctively try to hold out their arms to brace themselves with their hands. This is important, because if the fall wasn't broken with outstretched hands, the body would smash against the ground, and possibly damage vital internal organs.

What is the perfect body one that is curvy or one that is flat and toned?
I think the perfect body is one that is just right not too curvy and not to skinny! That's just me because I have a in between body and I get compliments every day! Just love what you already got and flaunt it! Trust me it works!

Happy Hour Anyone?
How long does it take for alcohol to leave the human body?
Approximately 1 hour per drink, thus if you have 6 drinks in 1 hour, the alcohol content in your body will be that of 5 drinks...an added note: Food does not stop intoxication, it only slows down the process and it will not change your blood alcohol levels, only time will do that...

Break the Bubble
I have the option of graduating from high school this year, one year early, but I am afraid that if I do and go off to college, my only friend in the whole world will think I am abandoning her, and I will never see her again. Is giving up your friends what it is to grow up?
If you have that option it is a great thing....but, only do it if you feel pulled to do it. It's scary getting outside of our bubble, but if it is going to better your future, I say go for it. You can always stay friends, but you never know what kind of other people you're going to meet.

Adore Your Pet
How can you tell if the pet you’re adopting has been abused? Are there are any signs?
There are several signs you can look out for: a dog may cower as you approach it or with loud noises, it maybe thin and the condition of its coat can also give you a sign it was not cared for properly. But the main sign is if the dog is nervous. But don’t let that put you off, once they learn you are not going to hurt them they soon come out of their shell and they will forever be faithful and adore you.

Great Smelling Stuff
How can I make really good smelling perfume and what products would I need? (home stuff)
What you can do is get some of your favorite smelling lotion and mix it together in a bottle and then add water, mix it, let it sit in the fridge for 24 hours and then presto! You have great smelling perfume.

Know Your Roots
Tree roots causing my sewer to back up. How do I get rid of them?
There is some poison which will kill the tree roots back out of the lines.... it is called Copper Sulfate available at most hardware stores and plumbing locations. Then you need to run a snake or other type roto rooter device through the pipes a while after, that to break the dead roots up.

Cost of renovating a kitchen?
It depends a lot on what you want to do. If you are completely gutting the room and replacing all the cupboards and appliances then the cost will be quite high. Also factor in the cost for someone to do the work, that can easily add 50% to the price if you're not prepared to do the work yourself.
