The mysterious flame

Anonymous asked:
Why does flame travel upwards?

Mrk
answered:
Because it is hot and heats the air. Hot air rises, initiating an upward flow of air, while air comes to the flame from the sides and bottom to replace it. All of the hot gases of the flame are caught in this upward flow of air. So, you have this continuous air flow powered by the flame.
