Splish Splash

Anonymous asked:
What is the best way to clean vertical blinds?

tootsiesmom answered:
I do mine in the bathtub. Run some water in the tub w/ some soap. Dunk the blinds in and swish the water some, you may even have to use a scrub brush or a scrub pad to get at the stubborn dirt. Drain water and rinse out good. Upend them in a large scrub bucket and hang outside to dry. Make sure that the slats are spread apart when you hang them.

The Personal Touch

Anonymous asked:
Is Wondir better than Google?

meg answered:
It's totally different, you can't compare the two. Google is a search engine; it gives you references to search terms you enter. Wondir has live people answering questions for you from their own knowledge or even looking up Google for you. This means you get a personal reply (maybe too personal sometimes LOL) which focuses on your needs.

Bird on a Wire

Anonymous asked:
Why do birds sit on the power lines?

Dee DEE answered:
Motive for sitting on wires is less obvious. The wires are a suitable size to allow birds to perch and rest comfortably. When a bird sits on a perch that is the appropriate diameter, (its) feet can wrap around well. As (its) legs bend, a tendon pulls on the toes and tightens the grip . . . on the wire. This means that birds can hold on tight, even when they are sleeping.

Please, No More Debt!

Anonymous asked:
How do I get out of all this debt without borrowing any more?

jah answered:
First don't buy anything unless its absolutely necessary. Try to consolidate your bills. If you have a house, you may be able to borrow $ from a bank to pay off your higher interest rate loans, such as credit cards. Cancel all credit cards but one and request that the company put a credit limit on it, such as $2,000 so you won't be able to charge more than that amount. Then, pay off the balance every month. Then, you just got to chip away at the debt. Make all your monthly payments and try to pay extra toward the bills that carry the highest rates of interest. You won't get out of debt overnight but you'll eventually get there. And it will feel great!

Life without Food

Anonymous asked:
How long can a person live without food?

Anonymous answered:
If you are in good physical condition and food is all you lack (you have water), then it would take you about three weeks to actually starve to death. First, your body burns up internal sugars (around your liver, pancreas and spleen, I think) that've been stored as emergency reserves, then your fat deposits, then you start digesting your own muscle tissue for protein. After that point, if you don't get something in you soon, you can't move and then you die.

Burn & Sand

Anonymous asked:
How do I clean a burn mark off of a hardwood floor?

Dee Jae answered:
If it is goes into the wood itself, you will have to sand it. If the burn area is small, you should sand a small area. Probably start with a fine grit sandpaper like a 120 grit, you may want to go to a 160 or finer. If it leaves scratches then you need to use a finer grit.

In Sickness and in Health

Anonymous asked:
Hi, I met a man 3 months ago. He's married but his wife is dying; hold on before you make your judgment. She was in an accident a few years ago and never recovered. She is presently brain dead not on any machines, still breathing on her own and all but there is nothing else that can be done for her, her condition has declined. He has not dated in 3 years... we enjoy spending time together and we have traveled but I'm not sure what I should do. Sometimes I feel like he's trying to make up for lost time and blames himself.

NutMeg029 answered:
This is a sad situation. I'm sorry for you. I think the proper thing to do in this situation would be to try and remain on in as friendly terms as possible. His wedding vows did say "in sickness and in health". It should be honoured. But I don't think there is anything wrong after a respectful period of time after her death, to have a relationship. I hope all goes well for you.
